British Voters Google What Is the EU after Leaving it

HOURS after voting to leave it, Brits were frantically googling ‘what is EU’. According to Google, “What is EU?” is the second most searched term about the EU since the announcement of the historic Brexit referendum.

In the hours prior to the vote, Google says one of the top questions was “What is Brexit?”.

The searches were made after the polls closed when British voters started to think seriously about their choice. The graphic below is from Google Trends, a fun public resource anyone can use to find out what certain countries are curious about.
